Common questions
The other device can't connect
Make sure both devices have internet. SendMate works across different networks (e.g. one on Wi-Fi, one on mobile data). If a transfer drops, it reconnects automatically and restarts the current file.
Where do received files go?
In the browser, you save the file when the transfer finishes (your downloads folder, or you pick a location). On Android, the app saves to Downloads/SendMate. On iOS, you choose where to save.
Is it really private?
Yes. Files are sent directly between devices and encrypted end-to-end — they're never uploaded to our servers. See our Privacy Policy.
What's the 6-digit code?
It's a one-time pairing code that lets two devices find each other. It expires after a few minutes and is never tied to your identity.
